«As a pianoplayer I always wondered where this beautiful instrument actually comes from and I longed to find out where it took its rise. So I started to investigate and explore, revealed stories, travelled through many centuries and faraway countries until I found the original piano.»
Remo Crivelli takes us on a marvellous journey back to the roots of the noble grand piano.
He searched and found the orogins of this exciting instrument in India and Iran: the santoor.
He traced its path through the traditional music of several Balkan and Arabian countries
until it reached Europe and Switzerland, where it evolved also as the hammer dulcimer.
In his program Remo Crivelli shows us the fascinating affinity of these three instruments.
He creates mysterious and beautiful sound worlds on keys and strings, composes, improvises and plays world music and
jazz in his own new way.
